Harmonic Balancer (Crankshaft Pulley) Engine:3LWe have found that the harmonic balancer on the 3L 2. 8 liter diesel engine has a tendency to fail after 25 years. The failure is a result of the pulley separating from the weighted "balancer" center. The pulley will then spin freely from the center, often shifting laterally into the timing cover damaging the cover, and possibly the timing belt. For this reason, we replace all 3L harmonic balancers as preventative maintenance. Fitment: Our 1KZ
